Johns Manville to Open New Polyiso Plant in Hillsboro, TX
Johns Manville broke ground in September 2020 on our new 420,000 sqft polyiso plant and distribution center in Hillsboro, TX. The plant is on track to be complete in Q1 2022 and the first operational portion of the building, the roofing systems distribution center, will open in December 2021. “We continue to invest in our business, customers and communities,” said Joe Smith, President of Roofing Systems at Johns Manville and “increasing the availability of our products while creating new jobs is a win-win.” The new plant is hiring now and will create approximately 50 new jobs and will manufacture our customers most preferred polyiso products including:
- ENRGY 3® Roof Insulation
- ProtectoR® HD High-Density Roof Cover Board
- AP® Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing Building Insulation
- GoBoard® Tile Backer Board

New Johns Manville TPO Roof Installed
The roof of the new Hillsboro, TX plant was installed in June, 2021. The roof system contains two layers of JM ENRGY 3® Polyiso and uses ProtectoR® HD cover board. The membrane we chose was JM TPO 60 mil attached using induction-welding with RhinoPlate which requires 25%-50% less fasteners than a inseam methods.
