Our new Plant Manager, Josh Canada, has joined the JM family in Hillsboro, TX. Josh will be responsible for building the plant staff and executing activities with the project team leading to a successful startup of the plant in the beginning of 2022.
Prior to joining JM, Josh was the Director of Human Resources for ResourceCare in Abilene, Texas. In this role Josh led talent acquisition for physicians, dentists, and mid-level providers. Prior to this, Josh had a 19-year career with Bridgestone holding various positions in operations including Supply Chain Global Planning Analyst, Process Engineer, Operations Manager, Plant Manager, and Divisional Manager.
Josh comes to JM with extensive knowledge in managing multi-site plant operations, plant start up activities, team building and development, continuous improvement systems, implementation of six sigma and lean principles, and building a safety culture.
Josh recently brought on two internal candidates. Materials Manager, Brad Smiley (Grand Prairie DC) and Plant Engineer, Dominick Phillips (Scottsboro, AL). The remaining staff will be brought on board in the coming weeks as the building construction is completed, the production line is installed, and the Grand Prairie DC transitions to the new site.
“The most critical aspect of our success in Hillsboro is that we hire skilled individuals that fit the JM culture. It will be a group effort working with HR, the Maverick project team, and other JM subject matter experts to select the best candidates for staff positions. We are planning to host a larger scale event with the local Workforce Solutions office to support the hiring of production, warehouse, and maintenance technicians," says Josh.
The building construction is nearing OMS will continue the equipment install, working through the holiday weekend to assure project milestones are achieved. completion within the next couple of months. Currently, the exterior is being painted. The office interior construction is well underway including drywall, electrical, and HVAC. The production line installation began this week and we are very excited to begin to see the final stages of the build.
