Johns Manville knows that Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) in our workplace are critical for the long-term
success of our company. We are committed to retaining, developing and attracting a diverse workforce that fosters an inclusive work environment in which all employees are treated with dignity and respect and can succeed. This is the right thing to do for our employees, our company and our communities.
D&I Council
JM’s D&I Council is composed of employees from the company’s locations in North America and Europe. The Council meets regularly and works to promote and foster an environment of inclusion. It advocates for inclusivity through content, engagement, discussion, understanding, allyship and training. The Council encourages all employees to take part in celebrating the value of diversity and inclusion.
Celebrating Diversity
A network of employee resource groups, born out of JM’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, are focused on promoting and supporting minority communities in the workplace. This will help build a stronger and more sustainable Johns Manville.
And, throughout the year, JM recognizes more than two dozen D&I-focused recognition days, weeks and months that celebrate different cultures and identities, to promote awareness, provide new perspectives and to cultivate camaraderie among our employees.
Women Leading the Industry
In recent years, women at JM have received recognition both locally and nationally as leaders in their industry for the outstanding work they have done.
In June 2021, JM’s Danielle Ashley was appointed to the International Code Council to help lead energy code development. The Council is the developer of the most widely used and highly regarded set of building safety codes and standards in the world.
In 2020, Building Insulation Innovation and Commercialization Manager Kathy Miks, Insulation Systems Associate Product Manager Cassie Todtenhagen and Insulation Systems Product Engineer Chanel Charbonneau were interviewed by Spray Foam Magazine. They shared insights about JM’s innovation strategy, provided tips to women in the manufacturing industry and emphasized the important role women play as contributors to successful and innovative teams.
