JM leaders from North America and Europe gathered January 28–30 for the 2020 Executive Leadership Conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The conference wasn't all about business; it was also about giving back to the community.
During the final night of the meeting, attendees participated in a silent auction to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. More than 25 items were included in the auction, but two received the most bids by a landslide:
- The opportunity to shave Roofing Systems President Joe Smith's head
- A JM quilt that was handmade by Joe's wife, Jill Smith
In total, the silent auction raised more than $12,000 to support the Denver chapter of Habitat for Humanity as it builds and repairs homes for those in need of adequate shelter.
When it was time to shave Joe's head … on stage … in front of more than 160 JMers, Jill and RS Director of Marketing and Product Management Jennifer Ford-Smith did the honors.
