The Scottsboro, AL team celebrated Ken Denney’s retirement with a steak cookout for all plant employees on May 24th and 25th, 2017. Ken was with the team from the very beginning; his hire date was July 1st, 2008. He was originally the cost accountant on the original TPO construction project in Scottsboro and transitioned into the plants physical distribution manager role upon completion of the project.
Ken was well known within JM Roofing Systems as a SAP and SIOP subject matter expert who gave freely his knowledge across the entire division and helped multiple locations implement SIOP based processes. He was an integral component of driving the cost reduction success in Scottsboro and brought a high level of passion and professionalism to JM Scottsboro for nearly a decade. His last day with JM was May 31st, 2017.
The team celebrated Ken’s contribution with not only the cookout, but with cake and gifts for Ken. The gifts included a custom printed and framed TPO remnant with the JM logo and some of Ken’s major contributions. The plant also gave Ken a very nice fishing pole and reel to use in retirement.
Aside from all of his contributions to JM, Ken also gives back to the community by being a volunteer fire fighter. During his retirement, Ken hopes to spend more time with his only granddaughter, Mayben. He is also looking forward to working on projects around his home and fishing.
Congratulations Ken, we appreciate all that you have done for the Scottsboro Plant and the success of the TPO business. We hope the best for you and good luck in your new journey!
