While research regarding COVID-19 and its relation to air ventilation is ongoing, there are a number of considerations being discussed to improve air quality in buildings. However, preemptively modifying a building’s HVAC system without giving due consideration to design and function could have adverse effects.
ASHRAE and the CDC have recommendations and guidelines in place with the intent to reduce disease transmission from airborne particles by increasing outdoor air ventilation and filtration efficiency. This article discusses these considerations and touches on the adverse effects that could arise if system design isn’t carefully considered before changing filtration systems. Read more.
