A strong team of nearly 150 JM employees, family members and customers participated over the weekend the Colorado MS 150, a two-day fundraising bike ride near Denver. JM’s Roofing Division was represented by Portfolio Manager Zebonie Sukle; Senior Marketing Specialist Christina Martinez; Senior Commodity Manager Daniel Blasini; Marketing Coordinator Liz Martin; Commodity Manager Eric Olson; and District Tech Specialist Jim Nunns.
On day one, riders Sukle, Blasini and Martinez pedaled 79 miles through quaint towns and backroads where they enjoyed rolling terrain and mountain climbs surrounding Horsetooth Reservoir, before ending at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. On day two, the trio retraced the 75 mile course, powering back over Horsetooth Reservoir and through the Colorado back country, before ending the ride at Front Range Community College in Westminster, CO.
The course was well supported with volunteers and fully stocked rest stops every 10-12 miles. Johns Manville hosted the last rest stop before the bikers descended into Fort Collins, which provided food, water, bike tune-ups, and a snow cone machine that has become a course favorite over the years. The rest stop also provided encouragement from our very own Liz Martin, Eric Olson, Jim Nunns and more than 40 JM volunteers, which included employees and their friends and family.
The Houston Bike MS took place on April 16, 2016, with a JM team of 10. The team included Territory Sales Manager John Haynes; Rusty Ransom with RB Hash and Associates; Keenan Knight with Marton Roofing Industries; and several friends of JM. Unfortunately, day two was cancelled due to rain, however the team was able to ride 100 miles on Saturday and as much as they could safely ride on Sunday. This small team raised $27,940.00 for the MS Society!
Each year, Bike MS Colorado raises over $4 million. If you would like to have a chance to be a part of that achievement, please click on a JM Roofing team member below to make a donation.
